Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)

Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), the Doctoral Programme of IIM-A, recognized as equivalent to Ph.D., provides necessary skills to identify and research complex
issues in the field of Management. It aims to develop top quality researchers and faculty resources for leading academic institutes, and management experts and thinkers for business organizations, industry, government, and society, for both local and international markets.

The programme offers research training in ten areas of specialization: -
* Agriculture
* Business Policy
* Econmics
* Finance & Accounting
* Computer & Information Systems
* Marketing
* Organizational Behaviour
* Personnel & Industrial Relations
* Production & Quantitative Methods
* Public Systems

The programme aims to admit in the above areas of specialization individuals with exceptional academic background, strong motivation, and potential to become excellent researchers at international level. Applicants are evaluated on their past academic achievements, motivation and preparation for the programme, letters of recommendation, scores on standard test, and personal interviews with the faculty.

Admission Procedure

Eligibility Criteria

• A Master's Degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks, with the Bachelor's Degree / equivalent qualification obtained after a minimum of 3 years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10 + 2) or equivalent.

• A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS, with at least 55% marks.

• A 4-year / 8-semester Bachelor's Degree with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade point average. Those appearing for their final examinations in the respective disciplines can also apply.

Financial Aid

The fellowship covers all academic and living expenses, and is available for a period of four years extendable by 6 months. In addition, student is entitled to subsistence allowance of about Rs. 180,000/- (including food allowance per year).

How to Apply

Interested candidates are required to take the Common Admission Test (CAT) of IIMs or GMAT / GRE / GATE / UGC-JRF for some of the specific areas. For CAT details, refer to advertisement that has appeared in leading dailies on 13th July 2008.

Application Forms for admission to FPM can be obtained by post (FPM Office, IIM, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad - 380015, Telephone: 079-66324638) by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- in favour of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, payable at Ahmedabad. The application form can be downloaded from the Institute's website.
