Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)
(Equivalent to Ph.D.)

The Programme

The Fellow Programme is the doctoral-level programme of the Institute which is recognised as equivalent to a Ph.D. by the Association of Indian Universities and the
Government of India. The programme aims to build in the candidates the perspectives of the specialist, the researcher, and the academician. The program equips students for careers in teaching and research, as staff-level specialists in functional areas in corporate, government, non-government and international organisations, and as consultants. The programme has the first year in common with the Post Graduate Programme. Beyond the second year, FPM students work on advanced courses and for their doctoral thesis.

  • Organizational Behaviour & Human Resource Management

  • Production & Operations Management

  • Public Policy

  • Quantitative Methods and Information Systems

    Eligibility

    Post Graduates in any discipline (or those with professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA, and CS considered equivalent to a post-graduate degree) with at least 55% aggregate marks who also have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained after a minimum of three years of course work subsequent to higher secondary schooling (10 + 2) or equivalent. If applying to the Corporate Strategy & Policy area, these candidates must have a minimum of two years of work experience after post-graduation. Other areas do not require work experience from post-graduate candidates.

    OR

    Engineering graduates with B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. Engineering degrees with at least 60% aggregate marks and two years of work experience after graduation.

    We encourage candidates to submit valid test scores from either CAT (2008), or GMAT (taken after March 2004), or GRE (taken after March 2004), or GATE (2007 or later), but will also accept applications without any test score. Candidates taking the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) must have the official result reported to the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). The GRE Code Number for IIMB Fellow Programme in Management is 7385.
