Doctoral Programme in Management

The Programme

SVKM’s NMIMS University, Mumbai offers Ph.D. programme in Business Policy, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Human Resources & Behavioral Sciences and Operations to create,
nurture and develop research and academic competencies of professionals for acquiring academic, research and executive positions in public and private sector organizations. The programme emphasizes development of through academic conceptual base, research skills and acquisition of knowledge in specialized fields of the candidate’s choice.

Eligibility

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines like humanities, social sciences, pure sciences and Commerce, from a recognized university/ deemed university/ institution recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Post-graduate Diploma in Business Administration, considered equivalent to MBA by AIU.
  • Minimum Marks required: 55% marks or equivalent CGPA at PG level
  • At least 5 years full time work experience in executive or supervisory capacity after obtaining Master’s Degree

    • Application Process

  • Candidates have to send application fees for the programme, along with a two-page 'Statement of Purpose'. Statement of purpose should briefly describe the area of research interest
  • All candidates will be required to appear for a written Research Aptitude Test
  • Candidates short-listed after the written test will be invited to make a presentation to a team of experts, based on their 'Statement of Purpose'. The presentation will be followed by an interview

    • Fees

    Application fee of Rs. 2000/- payable by DD drawn in favour of SVKM’s NMIMS University.

    Important Dates

  • Last date of Registration: 20th June 2009
  • Call letters for Written Test (available on website www.nmims.edu): 25th June 2009
  • Conduct of Written Test: 4th July 2009
  • Result of Written Test & list of candidates called for Presentation & Interview (on www.nmims.edu): 20th July 2009
  • Presentation & Interview: 23rd, 24th, 25th & 27th July 2009
  • List of selected candidates for admission on website www.nmims.edu: 5th August 2009
  • Payment of Admission fees: 6th August to 24th August 2009
  • Inauguration of the programme: 29th August 2009
  • Commencement of regular classes: 5th September 2009
