About the Programme

The MBA (International Business) is a foundational course for developing a competent cadre of business executives to meet the country’s growing requirements for training personnel in the field of international business management.
The MBA (IB) is a six trimester general management programme with a focus on international business. The Programme aims at providing a comprehensive coverage incorporating all the important areas and disciplines relevant to international business activities. The syllabi for MBA (IB) compares favourably with the syllabi of some of the world’s best International Business Schools.

Eligibility

  • No age limit
  • Recognised Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 years' duration in any discipline
  • Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination can also apply subject to submission of proof of requisite qualification by October 7, 2010

    • Selection Process

    For General / SC / ST / PH / OBC Candidates

  • On the basis of Written Test, Essay-Writing, Group Discussion, and Interview

  • The Written Test held on fourth Sunday of November every year and is organised at Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Guwahati, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Visakhapatnam

  • Based on marks obtained in the Written Test, candidates are called for Essay-Writing, Group Discussion and Interview to be held in January / February at Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai

    • For Foreign / NRI candidates/ Children of NRI

  • On the basis of General Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)
  • GMAT result should not have been declared before 1 January, 2008 and should be received by the Institute latest by 31st March 2010

    • How to Apply

    1. Candidates can submit application by visiting IIFT website www.iift.edu/iift/index.asp & clicking the "Admission 2010" icon available on the home page.

    2. The prospectus & Application form can be obtained on all working days between 10:00 am - 4:30 pm by payment of Rs. 1,500/- (Rs. 750/- for SC / ST / PH candidates & Rs. 3,000/- for Foreign nationals / NRIs / Children of NRIs) in cash personally from IIFT Bhawan, B-21, Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi or J-1/14 (7th-9th Floor), EP & GP Block, 7th floor, Sector-V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata-700091.

    3. The prospectus & Application form can be obtained by post from IIFT Delhi Centre only by sending a request accompanied by DD/PO of Rs. 1,500/- favouring Indian Institute of Foreign Trade payable at New Delhi (Rs. 750/- for SC/ST/PH candidates & Rs. 3,000/- for Foreign nationals/NRIs/Children of NRIs) and two self addressed (with tel. no.) adhesive stickers.

  • Last date for sale of prospectus by post: August 20, 2009
  • Last date for sale of prospectus across IIFT centre: September 3, 2009
  • Last date for receipt of completed applications: September 3, 2009
  • Written Test: November 22, 2009 (10:00 am to 12 noon)
