JBIMS-Mumbai Hosts Mr. Mahesh Murthy, Founder of Pinstorm & Passion Fund, on Campus

Entrepreneurship has been widely regarded as the driving force behind the growth of a nation's economy. The idea of entrepreneurship needs to be instilled in the young minds, who are going to be the leaders of tomorrow. This triggered the students of Jamnalal
Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, the Entrepreneurship Cell, to arrange a seminar on the know-how of "General Entrepreneurship" for the fresh batch.

The institute invited Mr. Mahesh Murthy, the founder of Pinstorm and Passion Fund, to share his experiences. Students with dreams and ambitions of becoming future entrepreneurs by starting their own ventures gained a lot from the first-hand experience narrated by this young entrepreneur. More precisely, the students got a vision to follow their dream.

Mr. Murthy, while explaining the philosophy of Entrepreneurship, also stressed on the 'daring' aspect of being an entrepreneur. According to him, there is absolutely no success without failure, and so one has to be ready to face risks and failures.

The students' happiness knew no bounds as the lecture took a completely different perspective to being an entrepreneur. The students got to know certain essentials like what goes behind being an entrepreneur, and that there is a huge difference in the skills and attitude of an employee and employer.

What's more, Mr. Murthy also enthralled the audience with examples from his own life as an entrepreneur, and he encouraged students' participation by interacting with the audience. 'Think out-of-the-box' was the mantra, and Mr. Murthy emphasized that successful entrepreneurs have always followed this mantra, illustrating live examples. His words, "Every step of an entrepreneur's journey is self-discovery and self-actualization", left the students spell-bound giving a new dimension to their thoughts. The session concluded with Mr. Murthy coolly and patiently answering the numerous questions from the curious audience.

The workshop provided the students a fresh stand-point on being an entrepreneur, and gave them direction to focus on setting the trends through "Innovative ideas, strong decisions and effective execution", thus, transforming their dreams into reality.

    Concluded.
