IIMs to Conduct Retest for all Aggrieved Students of CAT 2009

IIMs have decided to Conduct Retest of CAT in mid-January. According to the prestigious newspaper Economic Times All the aggrieved students who could not appear for the test during the scheduled test window will get another chance in mid-January & the Computerised Common Admission Test 2009 (CAT), which was marred by technical glitches, will not be scrapped

The CAT committee, comprises of IIM Ahmedabad director Prof. Samir Baruah, IIM Bangalore director Prof. Pankaj Chandra and other professors, made this announcement after meeting with senior Human Resource Development Ministry officials. Prof. Samir Baruah, director, IIM Ahmedabad said, "IIMs have decided to continue with computer-based test for 2009. We also look forward to continue the CAT through computer-based testing in future. We are conducting a retest in mid-January for all those students who could not take the CAT. This test will also be computer based."

The CAT went online for the first time this year and few thousand students failed to appear in the test due to disruptions caused by virus attack & other technical glitches in the whole process.
