Cairn India, Gurgaon Police and Delhi Public School Join Hands to Promote "Road Safety" Programme

Cairn India Ltd. in partnership with Gurgaon Police launched a road safety campaign in Gurgaon among school children as a part of its corporate social responsibility initiative. The theme of the campaign is ’Come Home Safely’.

The programme commenced in Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok in Gurgaon. Shri Alok Mittal, Joint Commissioner of Police Gurgaon was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Colin MacIntyre, Director AHSE, Cairn India was also present for the occasion.

 

"It’s a privilege for us to be a part of this vital "On Road Safety "programme organized by Cairn India and Gurgaon Police which brings immense awareness to the children of our school. Our students have imbibed an important message on the need for following safety on road not just for our own good but for others as well. They shall carry the learning to years ahead and ensure a safe and secure environment in future" said Ms. Ruchi Seth, Principal, Delhi Public School (Gurgaon).

Elated at the occassion Smrithi Senthil kumar, a participating student of class XIIth (DPS,Gurgaon) said, "Through the workshop today on "Come Home Safely" programme we understood the importance of following traffic rules and regulations for ensuring road safety for ourselves as well as others. It was a great initiative which covered day to day aspects like speed, road rage, distractions, pedestrians and two wheeler safeties. I shall definitely spread the message across to my family and friends contributing to the cause of creating a safe and secure environment for one and all".

Saloni Singh a student from class XIth further added, "The workshop was an excellent learning experience for me and my classmates. It was a great reinforcement exercise, reminding us of the road safety rules and regulations as well as the fatalities it can cause if not followed. Going forward I shall ensure that me and my family follow the traffic rules which have been made to safeguard our lives."
