1. General Questions

Background

Q. Can you tell something about yourself and your pre-MBA qualifications and work-experience?
A. I am born and brought-up in Delhi. Did my 10th and 12th from St. Xavier's Delhi, then B.Tech in Electronics & Communications from SASTRA University, Thanjavur (through AIEEE). Before joining IIM Shillong, I had worked for L&T Infotech, Chennai, as Embedded Software Engineer for 20-months.

Q. So when did you decide to go for MBA?
A. I decided to go for MBA in my Final Year of Engineering. As I belong to a business family, the affinity towards it came naturally. Further, it got substantiated during my term at L&T where in I found how exciting it is to be in top echelon of business community, and I got particularly interested in Marketing side of business as my work got me closer to Marketing Team at my work place.

Q. Will an MBA degree add on to your existing career plan or did you decide to switch/start a career in management?
A. Answer of above question is related to answer of this question as well.

Q. Which MBA institutes and programs you identified for your MBA?
A. As my work profile was good, I intended to get into top B-schools, and hence, applied to MDI-Gurgaon, IMT-Ghaziabad, IMI-Delhi, apart from the IIMs, and also applied to IRMA-Anand, IIFT-Delhi, IIT-Bombay / Delhi / Kharagpur, FMS-Delhi, SPJIMR-Mumbai, XLRI-Jamshedpur, XIM-Bhubaneswar.

Q. Your present B-school and programme. Also specify your Batch.
A. IIM Shillong, PGP, Batch of 2008-2010.
