Post Graduate Programme in Forestry Management (PGDFM)
(Batch 2009 - 2011)

Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) is a leading sectoral management school imparting excellent general management skills as well as managerial competence in the areas of forests, environment, development management and allied sectors.
It is located over a hill-top with a sprawling green campus spread over 230 acres, with state-of-the-art infrastructure and twenty-four hours Internet connectivity in the hostels. It has an air-conditioned library with 37,000 books and subscription to more than 272 national and international journals, and a computer centre capable of providing support for diverse computing requirements.

Placement

It has a record of 100% campus placement, and for the batch of 2006-08, the average salary was Rs. 7.2 Lakhs, and the highest annual package was of US $ 55,000 (overseas). Corporate social responsibility, climate change, carbon trading and global warming are some of the newer challenging career opportunities in these sectors.

Eligibility

Applicants must at least have a three year Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities / AICTE as eligible for Post Graduate studies with 50% marks (45% for SC / ST / PWD) or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing in final year of degree examination in 2009 can also apply provided they complete it before June 30, 2009.

Reservations

15%, 7.5% and 3% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Persons with Disability respectively. The three categories of disability are: -
a) low-vision / blindness,
b) hearing impairment,
c) locomotor disability / cerebral palsy.

In addition, the implementation of 27% reservation for OBC (non-creamy layer) will be undertaken by IIFM in a phased manner.

Fee

IIFM provides high quality education at reasonable cost and the total fee for the entire program is Rs. 3,00,000/- for General / OBC and Rs. 1,80,000/- for SC / ST candidates.

How to Apply

STEP 1: Common Admission Test (CAT)
Apply and appear for CAT 2008 exams. IIFM will use CAT score only for short-listing the candidates. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.
