IMI, India Holds 22nd Annual Convocation
Honorable Minister of State for Commerce, Mr. Jairam Ramesh, Presents Alumnus Awards to Three Alumni

Previous

While giving his convocation address, Shri Ramesh said that it was important for passing students to put their skills to practice and feel proud of it. "At the same time it is very important that Humanity, Sensitivity & Simplicity become part of your professional life," he added. He further added it is important and required of the management professionals to become sensitive towards those who have not been able to take advantage of the educational ethos of this country.
According to Shri Ramesh, it is not the income disparity, but the educational disparity which is of big concern in our country.

Welcoming Shri Ramesh and the Board of Trustees of IMI and congratulating the students, Dr. C. S. Venkata Ratnam, Director, IMI India, said, "To be a successful manager, one requires early and multiple exposures across functions, locations and business industry segments."

"Management is not so much about individual brilliance as it is about team work. To be an outstanding manager, one need not be an Einstein. Rather one needs to be a Zubin Mehta. You need to depend on just one percent of your individual brilliance and 99 percent on your positive attitude, willingness and ability to be a good team player," he further added.

The graduating students of IMI’s 2 year Post Graduate Program (PGP) have already been employed with companies such as Citi Group (Citibank, Citicorp, Citifinancial), Infosys, ITC, Ernst & Young, JP Morgan Chase, DHL, CB Richard Ellis, Progeon, Career Launcher, DSCL, HCL, IMRB, RocSearch, SAB Miller, HSBC AMC, Axis Risk Consultants and Newgen, CEAT, Blowplast, JK Group, DHL, Tata Motors, McKinsey Knowledge Center, Pipal Research, Pulsar Knowledge Center among others.

Dr. Rajat Kathuria, Professor & Member, Board of Governors, IMI India gave the vote of thanks.

Concluded.
