The first day consisted of a case study round in which the participants were given a case study in advance in which they had to employ their ingenuity and come up with a structured solution to the problems of special economic zones.

The presentations were followed by in-depth questioning by the judges that really tested the mettle of the person who had conceptualized the suggestions. The judges, from entrepreneurial and leadership backgrounds, provided the necessary checks and balances on the solutions that had been given.

The most anticipated event for the day was the 'Panel Discussion'. The panel this year, included business leaders such as Brooks Entwistle, CEO (Goldman Sachs India), Madhukar Sabnavis, Regional Director of Thought Leadership (O&M) and Mr. Doug Baillie, CEO (HLL). The topic for the discussion was "The Indian MNC - Are we there yet?" The distinguished panel discussed the growth of Indian MNC, the issues that they are currently facing and action items for the future.

To close the day, Vista saw 'Post Meridian - the Corporate Networking Dinner', which is a coming-together of the who's who of the business and corporate world. Students and guests will be given a once in a lifetime opportunity to interact and network with the business leaders of leading corporate houses.

Other notable events for the day included 'Manifestations', the paper presentation contest, which saw the five best papers short-listed from the papers submitted in each category presented before a panel of distinguished judges; the business plan contest, 'Bzzwings'; and several on the spot events and workshops, like the marketing and advertising workshop conducted by O&M.

Vista Day 2: October 14, 2006

VISTA, India's biggest B-school fest, went into its second day at IIM Bangalore today. A number of events from the first day at VISTA continued today, including the hugely successful 'Tata Boardroom Wars'. One of the biggest events at VISTA this year, the event saw the top-8 B-schools battle it out for the second day running to decide the best among them.
