ISB Launches Research Centre on Excellence for Leadership Innovation & Change

The Indian School of Business (ISB) has launched a new Centre of Excellence for Leadership Innovation & Change (CLIC). This is the fifth centre to be established at the ISB. The school has already set up four CoE’s in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Finance, Logistics & Manufacturing, and Information Technology.

Announcing the launch of the new centre, M. Rammohan Rao, Dean, ISB, said, "Launching the Centre for Leadership is in sync with our vision to groom business leaders for India and the world. We want to create thought-leaders who will be able to change the way businesses are run in the future."

The CLIC has developed a unique 'Integral Approach' that is based on the integration of knowledge from wisdom traditions, scientific research, and contemporary management practices. This approach will refine the leadership personality by combining leadership, change, and innovation with the body, heart, and head respectively. The CLIC will focus on developing best practices to groom Indian talent for global leadership. It will specialise in researching and developing models and tools to understand and influence the 'Indian Mindset'.

Dr. Prasad Kaipa, has been appointed as the Executive Director of the Centre of Excellence for Leadership, Innovation & Change (CLIC). Speaking on the occasion, he said, "CLIC aspires to ignite the genius within individuals to become extraordinary global leaders. We will work with individuals and organizations and develop best practices to truly build on the 'India Advantage'."

Kaipa has a rich experience in Transformational Leadership in his capacity as advisor and coach since 1990 for CEOs, board and executive members from leading companies around the world such as Ford, Disney, Boeing, Polaris, AT&T, Canara Bank, Union Bank, Mastek, BAE Systems, and others.

The CLIC will work closely with companies, government, educational institutions, and NGOs in the areas of change management and innovation. It will execute applied research projects, develop special programmes, projects to increase organisational effectiveness, and create new repositories of knowledge. In addition to this, the centre will also introduce new elective courses in the Post Graduate Programme and Executive Education Courses at the ISB, and conduct joint certificate courses in association with the industry.

The centre aspires to grow into an international centre for developing global leaders by replicating the success of the Indian model in other emerging economies with the support of traditions specific to their countries.
