Tata Group Appoints Mr. Chetan Tolia as Director of TMTC

The Tata Group has appointed Mr. Chetan Tolia as Director of Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC), the hub of knowledge and learning excellence of the Tata Group.

Mr. Chetan Tolia’s responsibilities as Director-TMTC will involve building the legacy of forty years and take TMTC to greater heights in organisational learning, applied research, and group leadership programmes.

An engineer from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, and management graduate from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta, Mr. Chetan Tolia was the Managing Director of Tata Bluescope Steel Limited, a 50-50 joint venture between BlueScope Steel, Australia and Tata Steel, India. He was responsible for taking the company from a start-up stage to establishing a scalable platform for profitable growth. Prior to Tata Bluescope Steel, Mr. Tolia headed the Strategy and Planning function at Tata Steel from 2001-2005. He headed the Pune Business Unit of Tata Ryerson Limited between 1997-2001.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Satish Pradhan, Executive Vice President, Group HR, said, "It gives us immense pleasure to welcome Mr. Chetan Tolia as Director-TMTC and we look forward to working with him. Mr. Tolia will be a key member of our leadership team in Group HR and we are sure under his stewardship, TMTC will see a step change in its impact across the Tata group."

As Director-TMTC, Mr. Chetan Tolia will report to Mr. Satish Pradhan, Executive Vice President, Group Human Resources.
