Nandoo Bhende, Founder Director of InSync Studios, Speaks to Students of JBIMS-Mumbai

Have you ever thought why some people naturally command respect, easily influence others, and experience magnetic response from people around them? It is plainly because of the way they talk, the way they communicate, the feeling beyond words they express with their tone, pitch and depth in voice.
This is how important the way one speaks is, as explained by Mr. Nandoo Bhende who was invited to the campus of JBIMS to enlighten students on the importance of voice, and ways to improve one's oral communication.

Mr. Nandoo Bhende is a renowned rock-star, an established composer, a successful voice-over artist, and a voice trainer of high repute. He is the Founder Director of InSync Studios, a leading sound record studio in Mumbai. He came into the lime-light with his spectacular performance as 'Judas' in Alyque Padamsee's "Jesus Christ Superstar".

Mr. Nandoo Bhende started with the importance of voice in one's professional as well as personal life. He reminded the students that even though talking comes naturally to us, we often tend to forget its importance and impact on others. Communication, according to Aristotle, is, "Who says what to whom and with what effect." He highlighted this with a very practical example of a survey conducted by some insurance companies in USA to determine the reasons for growing number of lawsuits against doctors.

He conducted live demonstrations to illustrate the effects of variations in pitch, tone, style of speaking and voice on the meaning of an underlying sentence. He believes that perceptions are formed within the first few seconds of an interaction and the impact you can create on the listener within this miniscule time is what matters.

He also highlighted the importance of professional training in voice modulation benefitting people from various backgrounds like Television, Radio, Politics, Sales & Marketing. He finally advised the students to listen to some good orators and voice trainers like Zig Ziggler and Anthony Robbins to enhance their soft skills.

Concluded.
