Niche Profiles Offered to FMS-Delhi Batch of 2010 during Summer Placements

Previous

Legacy recruiters Tata Administrative Services and Essar Group also participated in the process making multiple offers in the field of general management. Mahindra & Mahindra came for the first time offering a profile in general management. Around 7% of the batch took up
offers in the area of Consulting and General Management.

IT Consulting

The IT sector saw handsome participation from global heavy-weights like Microsoft, Cognizant, IBM, Genpact, Aricent and Wipro. Approximately 8% of the batch opted for IT profile for their summers. Candidates showed a clear inclination for choosing challenging profiles over lucrative stipends offered by companies.

The Placement Convener, Prof. Madhu Vij, said, "Since it is the campus responsibility to provide summer internships and final placements for all the students at FMS, we are really elated that we have lived upto the expectations of the students. Summer internships are critical to provide the students a much-needed corporate exposure, and we here at FMS, help them make the right decision by offering them plenty of choices with respect to both companies and profiles. The record 100% summer placements this year, despite the global financial meltdown and general downturn in the industry, re-affirm the premier stature that this campus enjoys. We are sure that our students would succeed in any organisation across the globe, so the high number of international offers doesn't come as a surprise to us."

"FMS always firmly believed that in the nature of things, if any door closes, many others open. This year, alongwith our legacy recruiters, we also had new and niche players coming to the campus to assess and appreciate our products. The experience has turned out to be very enriching for all of us, and we are looking forward to an encore in our Final placements too," said Prof. J. K. Mitra, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi.

By setting such a mark, the Batch of 2010 has set the ball rolling assuring that the best of offers will rain in for the final placements in 2009.

Concluded.
