IIFT Ruling in Competency Space with Remarkable Achievements of its Students

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), the nation's pioneer institute in International Business, is flying its banners high and running steadfastly up along the stairs of achievement. Be it national competitions or international meets, the students are just blazing their guns of glory and achievement.

Cheering its 3rd Batch, the Kolkata Campus of the institute has been tasting success in almost all competitions happening on international and national fronts. To say that it's living upto the bright legacy of its parent campus is just an understatement. The parent campus at Delhi is obviously maintaining its practice of winning laurels all over as well.

The foremost remarkable achievements of IIFT in the last few months have been: -

'BT Acumen', a unique path-breaking initiative started by Business Today in 2002, presented by Business Today and Aditya Birla Group is a national Business School Challenge on Quiz and Debate. India's best B-schools match their wits against each other - more than the usual display of debating and quizzing skills. The finals of the BT Acumen 2008 are going to be held on 12th December at the Taj Mahal Palace and Towers, Mumbai.

The East Zone Finals were conducted at IIM Calcutta on 22nd November '08 and anchored by Harsha Bhogle. Coming a close 3rd in quiz was the team from IIFT Kolkata Campus comprising of Manoj Bharathi and Titash Banerjea. However, the team from the campus comprising of Cheishta Katyal and Apurv Harsh were the unopposed champs in debate, beating IIM Calcutta in the Zonal Finals. Even more happily for IIFT, the team representing the North Zone is from IIFT Delhi Campus, comprising of Anchal Gupta and Rahul Sanan. Both the teams will now be taking part in the National Semi-Finals, representing their zones.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), and The Foundation for a Sustainable Future, San Francisco, organised the second 'Annual Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Competition' on 5th December at IIFT Delhi. Contestants for the Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Competition needed to prepare a business plan that can meet traditional profitability and return-on-investment standards while also demonstrating eco-friendliness and eco-sensitivity by increasing sustainability. Numerous entries were received from various engineering and management institutes. However, edging ahead of all its competitors, team representing IIFT Kolkata Campus comprising of Shashank Singh Rathore, Ankur Agarwal, Kumar Gaurav and Parin Chawda, clinched the championship title.
