Mridang 10 - the Maiden Cultural Festival of IIM Indore Attracts a Huge Overall Turnout

Previous

Hasya Kavi Sammelan turned out to be a blockbuster event with a packed auditorium, and people still coming in.

Popular hasya kavi Dr. Kumar Vishvas was in top form as he came up with smart quips and witty remarks, leaving the audience in splits. His earthy humour connected brilliantly with the raucous crowd, which cheered and hooted at every one of his jokes. His performance was one of the highlights of the day.

The event reached a crescendo with Distortion, which was touted as the battle of the bands. The evangelists of rock had a feast, as the sound of the guitar riff ripped through the cool evening air and the drums creating an electric atmosphere, where the audience couldn’t help keeping their feet on the ground.

Among other events, Mridang hosted Mr. Anand Patwardhan, renowned documentary film-maker and screened his award-winning documentary, War and Peace. The multi-award winning documentary with stunning visuals, left the audience in shock and awe. Famous script-writer Ms. Aparnaa Malhotra conducted a script-writing workshop for the enthusiastic participants. Writer of films like Gulaal and Shaurya, Ms. Malhotra taught the techniques and nuances required for writing a perfect script to the budding writers. Abhigyan Prakash, an eminent name in the world of media and television, gave an insightful talk to people interested and wanting to make a career in this field.

Added to the above mentioned events, Mridang pandered to the quizzing brains on the campus, hosting a series of quizzes like India quiz, Mela quiz, Art, Entertainment and Literature quiz and business quiz.

For Mridang, day two proved to be a rollicking day as it had everything anyone could ask for – songs, dances and various performances, apart from a number of fun events, Mridang has been accepted with open arms. With another equally eventful day to go, Mridang is well on its way to become one of the biggest events in the country.

Concluded.
