Humour and Drama Came Together to Reinforce the Importance of Social Welfare at MDI, Gurgaon

It provided them a platform to interact in some exciting informal activities, and experience and learn from management games and discussions with experts. Quick thinking and application of concepts were the norm on campus, as academics bonded with culture to churn out 72 hours of non-stop action.

In the events preceding the performances, MDI hosted a panel discussion on Sustainable Development, conducted as part of the MDI-GAP Inc Lecture Series. Eminent personalities such as Mr. Dan Henkle and Mr. Brij Mohan discussed sustainable development and issues related to rural India.

The discussions revolved around sustainability’s critical relevance to the triple bottom line and the factors impeding nations and institutions adherence to the unifying policies and regulations lay down by the sustainability movement. The panel discussion was aided by MDI’s School for Sustainable Development.

Informals, workshops and on-the-spot events made for an exhilarating experience for everyone on campus. Imperium 2009 also boasted of many first-time events such as Panache, the fashion show, and Futsal. The fest’s flagship event' Nautica' opened to rave reviews, reaching a new participation record at the national level. Nautica requires one to apply management concepts to travel and trade metrics in order to maximize profits. Other management events such as Survival of the Fittest, Sans Pareil and PhalanX, which tests a team’s mettle in the management functions of marketing, finance, operations, IT and strategy, also received excellent reviews for their creativity and uniqueness.
