Background
After finishing his 13 years of schooling from Don Bosco School, New Delhi, Akshay did his Engineering (Mechanical) from Pune Vidhyarthi Griha's College of Engineering. He got placed through campus placements in HCL Infosystems Ltd. as a Business Development Executive. The profile consisted of B2B sales to large government and corporate accounts. After gearing himself with some extremely valuable sales experience at HCL, he joined his family business, which was a small manufacturing unit for electric transformers (25-1000 KVA), where he worked for 9 months before joining GIM. He is currently pursuing his two-year full-time PGDBM from GIM, Batch of 2007-09, intending to do major in Marketing and minor in Finance.
Achievements
As a member for Student Public Relations Cell of Goa Institute of Management, he has organized pre-event and post-event media along with event press-conferences for various events organized by the college.
Was recognized as an 'Outstanding Employee of the region' on completion of first year of his job at HCL Infosystems Ltd.
Won National Level Inter-College Paper Presentation Competition 'CURIOUS 2003', in his 3rd year of Engineering.
Received BALCO Merit Scholarship for graduation studies on basis of marks secured in 12th.
Captained college basket-ball team in all inter-college basketball events.
