Other field works done by Ramanathan includes - Design and Analysis of Microstrip Antenna at SAMEER - Centre for Electromagnetics, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Govt. of India Undertaking under the guidance of Sisir K. Das, Head EMC division during 2003-2004. He designed Reward & Recognition scheme for MIT division of Wipro InfoTech, Western India, gave suggestions for implementing "fun @ work" concept in workplace and conducted a study on Flexi-timings - its effectiveness in manufacturing sector and proposal for implementing the same in Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd.
Work Experience
Before joining TISS he worked for Thinksoft Global Services Pvt. Ltd, Chennai as Software Test Engineer for a period of 11 months. There he after being trained in various software testing tools and domain, the various Test Strategies, Run Plan, Cases and Conditions are drafted and user accepting tests are performed off-shore for the client projects of GE, Temenos, Morgan Stanley etc.
Achievements & Awards
Ramanathan has been awarded the first position for "The Big Fight"- Debate organised by K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai in 2005 and
in the crossword in National Level Technical Symposium organised by St. Joseph's College of Engineering, Chennai in 2003. He has also been awarded "The Gold Standard" of the International Award for Young People by the Duke of Edinburgh in 2000. He is the zonal winner of Ball Badminton organised by 'The South Chennai Schools Athletic Association.' in 1999 and awarded the first prize in one act play competition organised by Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India in connection with the District Youth Festival -1998.
He is the Core committee Member - Annual Business Seminar 'Manthan - 2006' of the Department of Personnel Management & Industrial Relations, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai in 2006 and was a Core committee Member - Annual day celebrations 'Armageddon - 2005' in Thinksoft Global Services, Chennai in 2005.
He was Treasurer - Department student community ELCOM, in College during 2003-2004. He also took the responsibility of Compeering - Dumb Charades for Symposium & events in College cultural in 2004.
Hobbies
Cricket (Represented the school cricket team in the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) in the Under-16 cricket tournament during 1998-2000), Advertisements & Branding, Quizzing, Vedic Philosophy, Indian Politics.
