The numbers of men and women currently employed varies by sector.

Men: Information Technology 21%; Financial Services and Banking 14%; Engineering 12%; Consulting 11%; Industry 7%.

Women: Financial Services and Banking 16%; Consulting 11%; Information Technology 11%; Consumer 7%; Engineering 6%.

4.3.4 Current Salary

The current mean average salary worldwide lies below US$ 20,000. 60% of women report earning this level compared to 53% of men - a 13% difference. However, there are extreme variations according to nationality. The highest mean average current salary of US$ 55-60,000 is earned in France, followed by the USA, Japan, Germany and the UK, all at US$ 50-55,000. The highest numbers of respondents reporting the lowest mean average current salary are in Ukraine, followed by Thailand, Egypt, Venezuela and Vietnam.
