2.2 QS QUACQUARELLI SYMONDS LTD.

QS is, today, the world's leading information network for top careers and education. QS links high achievers from the graduate, MBA and executive communities around the world, with leading business schools, postgraduate departments at universities and with
employers, through websites, events, e-guides and technical solutions. QS organises the largest business education event in the world, the QS World MBA Tour and the leading postgraduate studies information event, the World Grad School Tour, amongst an extensive product range including print and online publications and software solutions. QS produces the annual Topmba.com Applicant and Recruiter Research and several annual reports including the Global 100 Top Business Schools and the annual World University Rankings research in partnership with The Times Higher Education Supplement.

3. SYNOPSIS OF RESULTS

5470 (3934) people submitted a completed survey, representing a response rate of approx 9.3% of the 59,000 applicants surveyed. A statistically significant (in excess of 0.5%) response to individual questions was achieved from 37 countries. The findings provide real insight into the attitudes towards MBA study in each country.

The number of respondents to the survey grew in comparison with last year in most countries visited by the QS World MBA Tour. As in 2005, the 5 countries producing most respondents were (highest first): India, Egypt, USA, Malaysia and China (China and Malaysia). Other countries contributing statistically most significantly to the research included: Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Greece, (Hungary), Italy, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, (South Africa), Spain, Thailand, Turkey, UK, Ukraine and Venezuela.

3.1 TRENDS IN FEMALE APLICATIONS

More women than ever before are considering taking an MBA. In eight countries, the number of women completing the survey now equals or exceeds the number of men:
Bulgaria 68%, China 56%, Hong Kong 68%, Russia 50%, Taiwan 59%, Thailand 67%, Ukraine 58%, United States 51%; and the numbers of female applicants were within 5% of parity with men in: Canada 48%, Hungary 49%, and Vietnam 46%.
