Corporate Relations and Placement 2000 Details
Average salary for the batch of 2000 ~ Rs. 4.52 Lakhs FMS, Delhi had one of the best placement seasons in its history as the Batch of 2000 was placed in less than two days as against a planned three-day affair. Offers came in thick and fast as 87% of the batch was placed on Day 1 itself. The average salary shot up by over 40% to 4.5 lakhs per annum while the average offers increased to 1.5 per student. The harbinger of the placements was observed in the active Pre Placement Offers scene itself. Hindustan Lever Ltd. picked 2 students from FMS. The students of FMS also found favour with the banks as pre placement offers were made by Citibank, HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank. Colgate Palmolive Ltd also picked a FMSite for its sole PPO among all B-schools. There was a significant profile change in the sectoral profile of companies visiting campus this year, as a large number of IT companies and dotcoms came to campus in droves. Some of the notable ones were Compaq, HCL Technologies, HCL Infosystems, Planetasia.com, NIIT, IRIS, Polaris and Kale Consultants. The IT flavour seemed to be the in-thing as students chucked lucrative offers from traditional sectors like banks and FMCG's to jump on to the infotech bandwagon, both to whet their entrepreneurial spirit and to grab the phenomenal stock options offered by some of them. The traditional sectors of consultancies, banks, FMCG's and financial institutions turned up in full strength conforming the belief that FMS managers are among the best performers with an extremely sound understanding of the ground realities and excellent adaptive skills, a prerequisite in today's dynamic corporate environment.
