Emerging Centers of Management Education

Maybe it's the high-salaries that are attracting the career aspirants, or the international postings, or the glamour and perks involved, or the challenges and on-the-edge feeling they promise, but more and more youngsters are drawn towards careers in management these days, and hence, the increasing number of business schools mushrooming all over the country.

Still it takes a whole lot of years and efforts, consistent performance and perseverance, ever-continuing upgradation in terms of course content, campus facilities, technological advancement, premier faculty, niche placement, infact whole infrastructure on the part of B-schools, to carve a niche for themselves. Some comparatively new B-schools that have made their presence felt in recent years are - XIM-Bhubaneswar, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, Great Lakes Institute of Management-Chennai, BIM-Trichy, Sydenham Institute of Management-Mumbai, etc.

Besides these, many institutes have launched -
One Year Management Programmes, like the ones run by IIM-Ahmedabad, SPJIMR-Mumbai, XLRI-Jamshedpur, Great Lakes Institute of Management-Chennai, ISB-Hyderabad, etc.,
as well as specialized courses like, Agri-Business Management, again available at IIM-Ahmedabad, IIM-Lucknow, IIFM-Bhopal, IRMA-Anand, etc.,
and then, there are these dedicated centers of HR education, like TISS-Mumbai, SCMHRD-Pune, etc.,
besides the institutions that are running the usual Two-Year Full-Time Residential Programmes.
The placement data for most of these special programmes isn't readily available, as of now, but these courses are fast becoming the choice of many a management aspirants, either as a way to enhance their existing careers or raise their market value, or just to specialize in some particular line.

Infact all the major Indian universities have also come up with some management programme or the other, few of which are quite good. So with the Indian economy booming, and Indian management students getting international recognition and acceptance, probably sky is the limit for those who dare to dream big.
