Final Placements Off to a Great Start at IIM Bangalore

The 6th of March marked the beginning of the Final placement process at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. After a record summer placement process for the first year students, expectations are running high this week at the IIM Bangalore campus.
Slot Zero of the final placements process kicked off, with around 25 of the most renowned firms in international business coming down to the IIMB campus.

The list of Slot Zero Recruiters this year includes the usual list of heavyweights from the world’s top consulting firms, like McKinsey & Co, the Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Co, Arthur D. Little, Diamond Consulting and AT Kearney. This year, the consulting firms will be offering foreign positions and specialized profiles which is a first at any IIM campus.

IIMB continues to be the most preferred hunting ground for private equity firms. The current season is hosting recruiters like the Sun Group, Actis, Audax, and Sabre. Such interest of private equity firms in recruiting graduates directly after an MBA, bears testimony to the caliber of IIMB students.

Investment banks will be present in large numbers with the likes of Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, Deutsche Bank, Barclays Capital, JP Morgan, UBS and HSBC. These Investment Banks are expected to recruit for more locations and profiles across various desks like Equities, Fixed Income and Real Estate. Investment banks are also expected to make offers at the Associate designation for students from IIMB, in line with international institutes like Harvard, Wharton and Stanford.

IIMB will be the first campus in India to host Gartner, a leading international research firm. Bloomberg, the financial services firm, is also expected to hire for multiple locations at IIMB.

A particular highlight of this year’s placements at IIM Bangalore is the impressive list of middle-east firms including investment banking firms like CiC International, global marketing giants like Al Ghanim and consulting firms like Arthur D Little, bringing further diversity to the list of recruiters. A number of these firms are recruiting for the first time at any IIM campus this year.

As proof of the increasingly global outlook of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, few choice locations that the students would be moving to are London, New York, Boston, Singapore, HK, Shanghai, West Indies, Florida, Dubai and Kuwait.
