Students of DMS, IIT Delhi Script Stellar Performances in Final Placement 2008

As another batch treads the path of fulfilling their dreams of an MBA degree from DMS, IIT Delhi, it's time we bring forth the story of the batch making its glorious exit. After going through the rigmaroles of the making of a successful manager, the students
went on to script a stellar performance in the recruitment process.

The astounding success of the placement season for the Class of 2008 has once again reaffirmed DMS's reputation of being a centre of excellence for management education. Some of the most respected and prestigious brands from the corporate world visited the campus to recruit the finest of management graduates.

For a batch of 63 students, we had a participation of 46 companies. A total of 91 offers were made to the outgoing batch. Offers per student stood at 1.44, the average salary this year was a whopping Rs. 11.92 Lakhs p.a., which witnessed a surge of 33% compared to the last batch. The median salary turned out to be Rs. 11.7 Lakhs p.a. The highest domestic salary for the class of 2008 was a staggering Rs. 20.7 Lakhs p.a. offered by Reliance Energy. Quite a few companies could not recruit anyone as the process got over on day zero itself.

This year also witnessed a slew of laterals being offered to the students where in the average salary for the laterals stood at Rs. 13.15 Lakhs p.a., while the median salary stood at Rs. 12.5 Lakhs p.a.

The profiles offered by the companies spanned across every vertical of management from Finance, Consulting, Marketing, Operations and IT to HR.
