Placement Week at Sydenham Sees Companies Offering Eclectic Mix of Packages & Profiles

Executive Placement Week '08, the Annual Campus Recruitment Program of SIMSREE, Mumbai was carried out amidst much enthusiasm. The placement week saw companies offering an eclectic mix of packages and profiles. Out of more than 100 companies that had evinced
interest to participate in the Placement process, 55 were invited, out of which 42 companies were able to recruit, which offered fatter pay cheques which took the average salary above INR 8.0 Lakhs p.a., up by almost 15% as compared to last year.

12 students of the batch received a pre-placement offer. With the regular recruiters such as Adventity, Citi Bank, Vodafone, VSNL, JP Morgan Chase, ICICI Bank, the campus saw a big jump in the number of recruiters visiting the campus for the first time. Among the new companies were Bank of America Continuum Solutions (BACS), Vedanta Group, Pioneer Investocorp, Normans Martin, Pidilite, Simplex Infrastructure, Capgemini, and many more.

The breadth of profiles offered to the students this year were astounding with profiles as diverse as Consulting, Treasury Management, Risk Management and Investment Banking, Wealth Management and Corporate Banking being on offer. Finance proved to be the major draw this year with 45% of the batch signing out with offers from Banks and other financial institutions. Normans Martin offered a position on their forex trading desk. ABPS Infra offered consulting in the infrastructure sector. Among the many finance majors which visited the campus were Centurion Bank of Punjab, Citi Bank, HDFC, ICICI Bank, ICICI Securities, Kotak Mahindra and Standard Chartered Bank.

The boutique firms like Centrum Finance and Pioneer Investocorp were also a part of process. IT/ITES majors like Iflex, Infosys, Patni Consultancy Services (PCS), and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) continued their long standing relationship with the institute.

The marketing area saw new companies like BASES (Booze Allen), Research International, Tata Automotive Components (TACO), Pidilite, Raymonds, apart from regulars like Godrej, Vodafone, Tata Communications Ltd., IMRB, and others.

Students also got an opportunity to choose general management profiles offered by SKS Microfinance, Thomas Cook and Vedanta Plc.

Placement 2008 Highlights

With this stellar performance, the institute is geared up for reaching new horizons in the years to come, and with the quality of student it boasts of, no goal seems impossible.
