Advanced Management Programme
Program Directors: Profs. L. S. Murty, P. D. Jose, M. S. Narasimhan, Shainesh G. V.
January 06 - August 18, 2007
IIMB Campus

Programme Overview: Managing in today’s dynamic and competitive environment calls for two critical capabilities from business managers - the need to be functionally competent in a global context and the ability to set and drive organizational agenda for growth and performance.
This calls for functional mastery combined with personal leadership. The objective of this program is to allow participants to manage this dual development agenda.

Objectives: This advanced management programme aims to achieve following objectives: -

  • Understand the existing concepts and practices in critical relevant functional areas and then challenge the assumptions in the future envisaged contexts

  • Enable the participants to integrate the functional knowledge and experience with organizational perspective and therefore appreciate the systemic whole

  • Help participants reflect and examine their personal leadership processes

  • Help participants understand their role as change agents in organizations

  • The program design will consist of six modules: three on campus and three off campus.

    Contents:

Module 1: Personal Growth and Leadership Lab (1 week On Campus)

This module will focus on understanding the personal and emotional resilience of the individual. The methodology used will be experiential. A half day expectation setting with four days of Outbound training program and closing with half a day of personal development and visioning process. All participants are profiled on a global leadership inventory. Participants would be required to carry a 360-degree feedback as pre-course assignment.

Module 2: Getting into deeper (20 Saturdays On-Campus / Video Conferencing)

This module will focus on advanced topics in various functional areas of management.
