Kiran Karnik delivers Convocation Address The occasion was also graced with the presence of the Institute chairman, Dr. A. C. Muthiah. In his address, he congratulated all the graduating students along with a special appreciation for Gaurav Agarwal, who secured the highest foreign salary from campus with an offer from the financial giant Capital One. He also spoke about the important role played by the faculty as intellectual parents for the students in inculcating the importance of being good human beings along with successful business leaders. He exhorted the graduating students to live up to the challenges that the corporate world would open up for them and also not be just good managers but also better human beings. Dr. A. C. Muthiah also awarded the IIM-K Gold Medal for scholastic performance to G. Krishnan and the IIM-K Gold Medal for best all round performance to Prashant Dinodia. With the chairman, Dr. A. C. Muthiah, voicing the words, "By the authority given to me by the IIM-K Society, I award you the PGDM and I charge that by thought, word, and deed, you prove yourself worthy of the award," the batch of 2005 were officially declared post graduates in management and thus they joined the elite group of alumni of the IIM fraternity.
