Media Conclave

Media Conclave, the most awaited event of Vista 2006, saw a huge turnout with the auditorium packed with people waiting to hear Mr. N. Ram, Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu, Mr. A. P. Parigi, Times Group and Dr. Narendra Pani, Editor of The Economic Times.
The discussion was centered on Indian Media and its critical role in the present scenario. As Mr. N. Ram, the Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu said, "There has to be a respect for the independence of journalism and one needs to strike the balance between the editorial and the marketing aspects." Quoting on the same line, Mr. Parigi said that the radio jockey at Radio Mirchi has the freedom to make a statement without worrying too much about the sponsors. The highlight of the discussion was that media has to play an objective role and not succumb to the temptation of sensational journalism.

Creativity Workshop

Another important event scheduled for the day was the creativity workshop by Erehwon Consulting. The teams for the event were given a number of everyday objects like paint brushes, music systems and chart papers and a time of 2 hours to come up with a final product. The decision on the final product was left entirely to the discretion of participants. The event sought to bring out innovation, out-of-the-box thinking and also clarity of thought and expression. Snapshots from the events, relayed across the campus on giant LCD screens have created a huge buzz, with the results of each game sparking loud shouts of triumph and jubilation amongst not just the participants but the entire audience, who are now looking forward to the grand finale of VISTA tomorrow.

Vista Day 3: October 15, 2006
