IIM Calcutta Hosting Annual International Business Festival 'Intaglio'
Highlights of Intaglio Day 2

Previous

Eliminations were held to test the knowledge of trading in a manner similar to the certification examinations of the NSE. The ten finalists were then tested on their understanding of how information affects the markets, analysis and comprehension of the numbers, trading strategies and negotiated skills, and the ranking was determined by the risk-adjusted rate of the portfolios.

Consulting Knights

The highlight of the day was final round of Consulting Knights, a case based contest conducted in partnership with McKinsey & Company. The event saw participation from more than 60 teams from 15 colleges of which teams from IIMC, IIMA and ISB were shortlisted and invited down to campus to present a case based on Indian Snack Food industry. The final round was modeled as a real life scenario with judges (Team from McKinsey & Company) playing the role of clients and teams as consultants.

It was not just a test of the participant team's case solving ability but their ability to understand the client's character and skillfully tackle their queries. The presentation was followed by a comprehensive feedback from the judges. IIMA bagged the first prize while the second prize was won by IIMC.

Economatrix

Economatrix was another real life economics based game that tested the teams' conceptual clarity and understanding of economy. It required the participants to apply their acumen and arrive at a conclusion when faced with a maze of data. The 10 short-listed teams had to solve an extensive case, exclusively prepared by Team Intaglio.
