Empires of the Mind - Competition, Collusion!

Empires of the Mind, a game designed to bring out the importance and pervasiveness of game theory in real life, witnessed a huge participation. More than 120 teams contested in a puzzle-based elimination round. The top 6 teams played the final multiple rounds of simultaneous and sequential move games requiring the participants to think strategically. The event generated a lot of interest amongst audience and participants as it was dynamic and impromptu in nature. The teams interacted with each other on the spot and played along according to each other's response. The fun game was designed such that teams tried to outguess their opponents in order to win. Team from MDI, Gurgaon won the first prize while IIM A and IIM C bagged the second and third prize respectively.

Casino Royale

The event was a first of its kind Bond Trading Game in B-school fest scenario. The preliminary round was played by around 60-70 teams of whom 10 were short-listed for finals based on the net worth of allotted bonds. The game aimed at developing basic understanding about the bond markets. It was a simulation of an exchange, which traded in treasury bonds, corporate bonds and credit default swaps. The game received very enthusiastic response. FMS, Delhi won the event, while IBS, Hyderabad were first runners up. An IIMC team came third.

Quizzical

"In France, he is called 'Oui-oui' (Yes-yes) due to the gesture for approval that he follows. His name is sometimes used as an adjective to describe something as small or childish, for example a '____ bus' being a single-decker omnibus, or a '_____ guide to electronics' being a simplified primer."

This was just one amongst a slew of questions from a host of subjects, by a star quizmaster, with some of the most capable proponents of the art of quizzing competing against each other, for a prize worth dying for. Yes, that's Quizzical, IIMC's mega quiz.
