National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) Organizes Entrepreneurship Week India

Entrepreneurship Week India is a week-long awareness campaign that celebrates the opportunities in today's India, and engages people in improving the entrepreneurial eco-system. In its second year, E-Week India has become a national show-case for the
energy and drive that will power India's future economic growth. E-Week is an initiative of NEN, and co-hosted with over 270 NEN member institutes, TiE, IVCA Indian Angel Network, Proto.in and DARE. Sponsors include Symphony Services, HSBC and Himalaya.

During E-Week, over 2,00,000 students are running and participating in more than 2,500 activities across 30 cities of India. More information is available at www.eweekindia.org.

NEN, a not-for-profit initiative of the Wadhwani Foundation, works to inspire, educate and support the younger generation of entrepreneurs. Currently, NEN is working with more than 295 top-tier academic institutes, reaching over 3 lakh young people across 30 cities of India. The organization was co-founded in 2002 by leading Indian institutes, including IIT-Bombay, IIM-Ahmedabad, BITS Pilani, SP Jain and IBAB.

NEN's Advisory Board includes eminent experts including Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Biocon; Naina Lal Kidwai, HSBC; Arun Seth, British Telecom; and Prof. Howard Stevenson, Harvard Business School. More information can be found at www.nenonline.org.

This year, the activities at various institutes during E-Week are being covered by Shubha Narayanan, NEN's own reporter.

Shubha is the newest NEN team member. Two days after joining, she was unceremoniously thrown out of the office into the cold world of pre-dawn air travel to begin her NEN E-Week Yatra. Luckily, with over six years' experience in journalism and corporate communications, Shubha is used to rough treatment. She has worked with Deccan Herald, Vijay Times, and Sailor Today, a maritime magazine in Mumbai. Most recently, Shubha worked for TEAM Computers, a Delhi-based IT company.
