Biocon Chief, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Gives Away Championship Awards at E-Week India Closing Ceremony

Previous

Due to the incredible levels of participation, innovation and creativity that demanded to be recognized, NEN introduced a new category of winners: Champion Runners-Up. Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai; JJ College of Engineering & Technology, Trichy; M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore; MKSSS's Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management for Women, Pune; Muffakham Jah College of Engineering & Technology, Hyderabad; Pailan School of International Studies, Kolkata; and Sir MVIT Engineering College, Bangalore, were declared the seven Champion Runners-Up.

Students across the county transcended expectations and even hopes. Their efforts and energy were devoted to improving our communities and our nation. They were called crazy. But perhaps we all need to remember the saying: Those who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

Students Cheering with Laura Parkin, Executive Director of Wadhwani Foundation & NEN

E-Week India has left all participants with fabulous images, memories and emotions - and a new appreciation for the energy and power of India’s future entrepreneurs. The closing ceremony was an emotionally charged moment, perhaps it had something to do with the song - the soul-stirring 'Lakshya' song 'Kandhon Se Kandhen Milte Hain' - which was being played in the background. Perhaps it was the snatches of memories it recalled - of the good times, the excitement and the panic attacks. Perhaps because it marked the end of an exhilarating journey called E-Week.

Concluded.
