Look @ Intersections

Bangalore city has preponderance of intersections. Intersection management often constitutes a major chunk of traffic management. Intersections invariably delay traffic since all four arms have to share the same space for proceeding and turning. When traffic volume and geometry are considered together, the degree of saturation becomes a key factor in determining the saturation level. For instance, in Bangalore nineteen intersections were saturated. Out of the nineteen important intersections chosen for the study, seventeen had a congestion index of more than one during morning peak hours and sixteen had a congestion index of more than one during evening peak hours.
