    Bhoomi is an e-Governance project of the computerization of all 20 million land records of 6.7 million land owners in 176 taluks of Karnataka. This system works with the software called "BHOOMI" designed fully in-house by National Informatics Center, Bangalore. While the project is largely funded by Government of India, some critical components of this project are funded by State Government.

    MSSRF Initiatives

    The basic mandate of M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) is to impart a job-led economic growth strategy in rural areas through harnessing science and technology for environmentally sustainable and socially equitable development. In an experiment under Information Village Research Project in electronic knowledge delivery to the poor, MSSRF has connected ten villages near Pondicherry by a hybrid wired and wireless network that facilitates both voice and data transfer, and have enabled the villagers to get information that they need and can use to improve their lot.
