IIM Lucknow
Six-weeks Advanced Management Programme (AMP)
Programme Director: Prof. Devi Singh & Prof. R. Srinivasan
Sept. 05 - Oct. 15, 2005
at IIM Lucknow Campus, Europe & North America
Introduction:
With globalization and liberalization of the Indian economy, Indian firms need to compete effectively with global corporations (both international and Indian firms), who bring with them an experience of working in international and multi-domestic markets. It has also become apparent that in the last few years, geo-political and economic changes in certain markets have a significant impact on business across borders. It, therefore, becomes imperative that Indian businesses expand their horizons beyond domestic consumers, competition and environmental forces.
Another major challenge for Indian businesses today is the increasing intensity of information and knowledge in their products, services, and processes. The information explosion has brought to fore new and emerging information and communication technologies (ICT) that have the potential to radically transform the way firms generate value, create and define markers, and relate to consumers.
In the light of these challenges, only those businesses will survive who have the ability to accurately assess the changes in the global environment and integrate strategizing, organizing, innovation, and value-generation activities.
