Statistical Estimation: The rationale of this module is to bring awareness among the managers of HIV/AIDS control programs about the statistical issues underlying the estimation of the true prevalence of HIV/AIDS virus. In particular, this module will evaluate existing statistical designs and estimation methods, and will recommend any changes to be made in order to arrive at a robust estimate of the prevalence of HIV. Some of the topics included are: -

Integration of HIV and RCH: This module focuses on issues related to integration of HIV/AIDS activities with reproductive health and primary health care. The module will include areas of synergy between HIV activities and RCH activities. It will discuss how family welfare and primary health care programs need to integrate HIV and AIDS prevention activities. The session will discuss managerial challenges in this integration process. Some of the topics included are: -

Behaviour Change Communication: Originally, Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) dealt with working with individuals and communities to develop appropriate communication strategies aimed at promoting positive behaviour and a supportive environment. Now BCC has entered a .second-generation. stage that emphasizes primary behavioural changes focused on prevention, care, support and treatment. This module will help participants examine the strategic communication framework that underpins this shift in order to identify, with the help of recent successful examples, specific areas of communication focus for the future. Some of the topics included are: -
