Q. Was Group Discussion or Group Exercise part of selection process?
A. Yes.

Q. What was your GD topic?
A. Related rural vs. urban development and government focus.

Q. The duration of Group Discussion, size of the group, number of panelists, etc.
A. 20 minutes, 12-13 students, 3 panelists, overall a nice discussion not a fish market .

Q. Were there any set norms of Group Discussion?
A. Not to create a fish market and focus on topic were the most general set of norms everywhere.

Q. How was the environment during discussion?
A. It was good during the IMI group discussion. Though aggression prevailed everywhere.

Q. Describe your impression of your team members and overall Group Discussion Process?
A. Highly intellectual team members with a good knowledge of current affairs and political scenario of country. Overall GD process was a great chance to create a good first impression on the panelists.

Q. Tell us about your GD experience?
A. Overall experience from different b school GDs that I attended is that its not easy to make people listen to you as there is a lot at stake for everyone but when you put 4 or 5 good points across that are clear enough to be hard and are complete with the logic you get through.

Q. Give some handy tips regarding Group Discussion or Group Exercise that would be of great help to MBA aspirants.
A. For CAT go for a regular preparation, it doesn't help if you option for last minute preparation. Follow your institutes material religiously as it is prepared with a lot of effort from highly trained people hence is more practical than you perceive. For GD update on general knowledge and general industry updates of different sectors in industry. Practicing for gd s going for mock gd s with friends and strangers in institute helps to be more confident during the live process. Certain behavioral etiquettes are expected.
