Interview with Director, IIFM-Bhopal

Previous

What is the CAT cut-off (or other exams which IIFM accepts) percentile at IIFM?

It varies every year but it is normally above 80 percentile for the students who get a call for GD/PI from IIFM.

What advice would you like to give people who might have a good CAT score but not so good academic performance in past?

Any candidate, who has inclination towards development, environment and forestry sector and aspires to become future green manager, should apply to IIFM for PGDFM. PGDFM is a multi-disciplinary course in management and offers opportunity to students from all kinds of academic backgrounds as the eligible aspirant to IIFM.

Besides all the above, the minimum eligibility criteria for admission is at least a three year Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities / AICTE as eligible for Post Graduate studies with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC/ST or persons with Disability Category).

And what about Group Discussion and Personal Interview, what kind of weightage is given to these?

Group Discussion and Personal Interview are conducted at the institute in late February usually every year. We normally give about 30% weightage to the GD/PI, and more weightage is usually given to CAT score.

The candidates are selected after going through a rigorous process of GD/PI. Candidate's aptitude towards this sector is judged by the interviewing panel of experts. Candidate's level of awareness and interest in the sector is critically evaluated by his/her understanding of the sector and by way of situation analysis in the interview.
