Interview with Professor & Chairperson, TISS-Mumbai

The revised curriculum includes additional three electives to be offered in the third semester, i.e., Compensation & Benefits, Learning & Development and Employee Relations. We have also introduced four compulsory audit courses, two each in third and fourth semesters. The courses are Measuring HR Effectiveness & Benchmarking, Future of HR, Understanding Innovation, Creativity & Decision Making, and Organization Process Capability Management. Normally, curriculum is revised every year taking into consideration the developments in the field and suggestion by alumni as well as faculty.

Q. What is the batch strength of the current M.A. in HRM & LR Programme? Would it increase in coming years?

The current batch strength of HRM & LR Programme is 67, including 6 students from OBC category. We have also provision for foreign students as well as the students from disabled group. We plan to increase the batch size to 100 in the next five years time.

Q. Please give a brief on the students' background and diversity in the current batch admitted at TISS, Mumbai - in terms of gender, educational background, Written Test Score Cut-off, work experience, etc.

Gender Ratio - Male:Female :: 32:33.
Work Experience - Freshers = 31%, upto 2 years = 42% , 2-3 years = 20%, 3 years & above = 7%.
Education Background - Engineering = 52%, Commerce = 18%, Management = 5%, Arts & Languages = 17%, Science & Maths = 8%.
Written Test Cut-off - 60%

Q. Tell us about the Fee Structure at TISS, Mumbai for this particular course.

The Fee for this programme, including hostel and dinning fees, is approximately Rs. 58,000/- per year.
