The usual faculty profile at TISS is a doctorate in the relevant area, with proven track record, apart from publications in reputed national and international journals. The faculty normally excels in their specialized area, and some of them are having industry experience. Some of the faculty members are also invited as Adjunct Faculty by reputed Institutes like IIMs and XLRI.

Q. How many applications did TISS, Mumbai receive for admission to its current batch? How many (or what percentage) were called to take part in further stages of admission?

For the Batch 2008-10, approximately 7,000 applications were received for 60 seats, and about 2,500 candidates qualified for Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Q. What kind of background and profile do you prefer in students?

There is no preference as such. However, in the last couple of years, engineers have been entering more in numbers. TISS appreciates the candidates who sensitize themselves with the changes happening in and around society and business. Apart from these, candidates are also expected to be smart in analytical skills vis-à-vis social skills.

Q. What is the mode of admission to the course M.A. in HRM & LR? What are the steps involved in your admission procedure?

The mode of admission in this institute is through Admission Test conducted in almost 12 cities of India. This is followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview at TISS Campus, Mumbai.
