Admission to academic programmes at XLRI is through XAT. Kindly check the XAT Bulletin in this regard.

Admission Process for XLRI

Instructions: Phase I

Step 1: Register and pay for XAT

To apply for XLRI - 2005, first do either of the following: -

  1. Go to a specified State Bank of India branch in your city or nearby your town (117 branches of SBI are listed in XAT Advertisement), make the payment for Rs.800/- and collect the prospectus and the bank pay-in-slip. The second copy of the paying slip is to be retained by the candidate.
    OR

  2. Get a demand draft for Rs.800 in favour of "XLRI JAMSHEDPUR" drawn on the State Bank of India, XLRI Branch (Code 4660) payable at Jamshedpur. The fee for SC/ST candidates is Rs. 600 only. Please mention your XAT ID and your name on the reverse of the DD.

Step 2: To apply for XLRI admission, first enter your XAT ID and XAT password. After you are authenticated, you will be shown the XLRI Information part of the application form. You need to complete this section and key in the payment details and press the "SAVE" button.

Step 3: After selecting the payment method in personal details portion of the application form, take a print out of the XL Payment Advice Form (XLPAF) and do one of the following: -

  1. Send the XLPAF along with the pay-in-slip to XLRI Admissions Office, XLRI, C.H. Area (E), Jamshedpur-831001..
    OR

  2. Send the DD along with XLPAF. Send it to XLRI Admissions Office, XLRI C.H. Area (E), Jamshedpur-831001. Please mention your full name and XAT ID on the back of the DD. SC / ST candidates are required to send SC / ST proof certificate.

Step 4: The data that you had filled in XAT form will get pre-populated in the XLRI application form and you need to enter those data that are required in the Online Application Form of XLRI. Only when all the sections of the application are shown as complete in the status screen, will your application to XLRI be considered complete.
