  3. Questions related to Group Discussion / Group Exercise
  4. Interview-related Questions
  5. After Joining MBA

5. After Joining MBA

Q. Were you able to get the school of your choice or did you compromise and opted for the best option that was open/available for you?
A. With the number of B-school applicants increasing every year, the fight to the top has become increasingly difficult. Unfortunately, one might end up not getting the desired B-school of his or her choice, despite having the calibre. Under these circumstances, it becomes imperative to apply to all good B-schools and choose the best of the options available to you. MBE is one of the sought-after courses of Management and has set itself apart by providing all the knowledge which an MBA course provides, but along with that, it also inculcates in us the knack of using Economics principles to analyze the current business scenario and to forecast the future.

Q. Did work experience help in getting the choice of your school and also in dealing with the curriculum?
A. Certainly yes, having prior work experience makes one more focused towards the choice of a B-school. It can also help you in the selection of electives later during the course of the study. But at the same time, a fresher is not totally at the receiving end of things as often perceived. On the contrary, he has a wide domain of subjects to choose his specializations from, and at the same time, explore his possible areas of strengths.
The people having work experience bring to the table a humongous amount of insight and learning from their respective work domains. This experience comes in very handy during the class in case discussions, and provides a more holistic approach to management education.

Q. After joining the school, did you ever wish that you should have known certain more things about the school before you became part of it? What are these?
A. No, I had multiple offers in hand, so I did a lot of research prior to joining the course and institute of my choice.

Q. What is the toughest area to handle in your studies?
A. To manage and strike a balance between a live project work, study and ECA.

Q. Which one is your best subject?
A. Information Management and Micro-Economics Analysis.

Q. Is there stress level during studies?
A. Yes, somewhat. Being from a non-Economics background, sometimes its hard to understand the concepts in short span of time. But an Engineer's aptitude helps to sail through.

Q. Who is the best faculty at your B-school?
A. All faculty here are brilliant in knowledge and have wide experience of teaching. However, one Dr. Deepa Saran and a Guest Faculty from MDI, Dr. Suni Ashra, are my personal favourites.

Q. What's the best and most admirable feature of your institute?
A. The MBE-DU programme offers distinct features that differentiate it from others. The fusion of business subjects with relevant courses in Economics and Quantitative Techniques equip students with academically-founded knowledge, enabling them to take analytical approach rather than merely managerial approach to business problems.

Q. Scope of development in your existing curriculum.
A. We can have more industry exposure and case-related studies, which are improving as the department is working hard to improve the academics.

Q. Getting into and sailing through a B-school is easier for a Science graduate than for someone from Humanities background. Your comments, please.
A. Well, it all depends on individual rather than the stream he/she came from. However, an Engineering graduate having analytical bend of mind have an edge over others.

Q. Tips for those who wish to do MBA from your school.
A. Brush up the vocabulary, start having knowledge of Finance and Economics, and a bit of higher Mathematics. The school conducts an All India Entrance Test of its own. The entrance test contains questions on Quantitative Aptitude, Language, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation with moderate level of difficulty. All the short-listed candidates are called for GD and Personal Interview which are conducted in the campus itself.

Concluded.
