The companies have received the resumes, but it would have flattered them to see the kind of rushes that take place in CV submission. Frantic last minute updating to include the latest case winning results, to memorizing of theories of derivative pricing, all form an integral part of this final phase. As Neil Barve, the placement representative says, "It's an honor to be able to welcome the kind of companies one gets to see during placement week. But the fact is, each year it just keeps getting better." This time around, IIM Calcutta students will play host to a number of Indian and overseas recruiters such as, Deutsche Bank, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan Chase, HSBC, Bank of America, Citibank, P&G, Unilever Group, Glaxo SmithKline, to name a few. The junior batch is organized into various teams of Company Volunteers, Infrastructural support, trackers et al, to facilitate a seemless flow of information. All are part and parcel to the smoothening of this highly awaited event. The facts stand, placements form an integral part of a student's life and at IIM Calcutta, this final step forms the end of 2 years of healthy but intense competition and marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their lives!
