The figures: 126 students placed in 59 companies. Foreign placements also came to MDI easily this time. OLAM International, i-Maritime made a total of 6 offers of US$ 60,000 and Singapore$ 1,00,000. PWC took 4 students. In the area of marketingm, companies like Colgate-Palmolive, Marico, ITC, Asian Paints, Godrej Soaps, Reckitt Benckiser, Gillette, Britannia, Madura Coats, Dabur, went all out in search of the best fit into their organization. PSEG, First Global, HSBC, BNP, CRISIL, ICICI Bank, UTI Bank, etc., topped finance. PMSI, Ramco Systems, Satyam, Polaris, etc., represented Information Management. Companies, like Hero Honda, Maruti, L&T, came for the operations function. Held within the Mandevin Hostel, the arrangements were befitting that of students of a top management institute. A separate scheduling room and a control desk kept pace with all that was happening around in 30 rooms simultaneously, and sent in the candidates accordingly. It was a grand performance indeed.
