Summer Placement 2000
I-Maritime has taken nine students for summers with overseas postings. This will take them to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Dubai. The icing on the cake is the Rs.15,000 per month that is on offer in addition to an overseas allowance. They will have to formulate the grassroots marketing strategy for entering these markets.
P & G took four students for projects in the field of marketing and SCM. HLL has taken two students for their information technology division and one student for their marketing division. Monsanto has also taken one student for marketing in addition to one for SCM. Compaq has taken one student for marketing. British Oxygen has taken four students for industrial marketing projects. In all, nearly 30% of the students have been placed in the Marketing divisions of companies.
Orange, the cell-phone major and Polaris Software have taken four and one student respectively to carry out projects in CRM (Customer Relationship Management), the current buzzword in organisations. Marico has taken four students, of which two will be working in their information technology division.
Nestle, ITC, ICI and Electrolux have each taken two students for projects in SCM. Dabur and Saint Gobain have taken one and three students respectively. Wockhardt has taken two for SCM projects.
